Self-Filing

How do I file the Modelo 210 myself?

There are generally three routes. The first is direct filing through the AEAT's Sede Electrónica. This typically requires a Spanish digital certificate or Cl@ve PIN, the interface is predominantly in Spanish, and the form entry assumes familiarity with the IRNR system. For non-residents without a Spanish address, obtaining the certificate is generally difficult. The second route is engaging a Gestor or Asesor Fiscal. They assist with the calculation and filing — costs are generally between €80 and €200 per declaration, depending on the region and complexity. The tax responsibility remains in principle with the taxpayer. The third route is a specialised platform such as Fiscaro. These guide the user step by step through the required data, calculate the tax under the applicable rules (DA 55 LIRPF / AEAT Manual Renta 2025 §7.3.4), and enable digital filing through the designated submission process — without a Spanish certificate and without travelling to Spain. All three routes require: the NIE number, the Referencia Catastral of the property, the cadastral value from the IBI assessment, the ownership share, and the days of ownership in the tax year. For rental income, additionally the rental receipts and, where applicable, documentation of deductible expenses. For standard cases — one property, self-use or straightforward rental, one or two owners — self-filing through a structured platform is generally practical.
