Self-Filing
Can I file the Modelo 210 online?
As a general rule, yes — filing is possible entirely online, without travelling to Spain and without visiting a bank. Through the AEAT's Sede Electrónica, the Modelo 210 can be filed directly with the tax authority. This route, however, typically requires a Spanish digital certificate or Cl@ve PIN — both of which are often difficult for non-residents without a Spanish address to obtain. The interface is predominantly in Spanish and assumes familiarity with IRNR codes and form designations. Specialised platforms such as Fiscaro enable fully digital filing through the designated submission process — without a Spanish certificate, in multiple languages (DE/EN/ES), and with automatic tax calculation. The wizard guides the user through all required data, and payment is processed in the same step. The key advantage of online filing: no physical presence in Spain required, no printing of forms, no bank visit. A NIE, cadastral data and an IBAN account are sufficient. For standard cases — self-use or straightforward rental — online filing is generally the most practical route.
